One week ago...

... this was my outfit. I wore this last Friday and yes it took me a week to post it! :)

This blouse was thrifted (also worn here) way back in 2005/2006. The back is lace all the way down until where the design starts again. I just wore a blank cami underneath. I've never seen anything like it and it only cost me like a dollar or even less than that I think (I am converting peso to dollar and that is the equivalent)! Plus it is made in Italy. How I wish I can find more deals like this! I thought it would be perfect with this skirt from Modcloth.

Happy weekend everyone! And if you are still interested to join my giveaway, you have till Sunday... I know it's really not fashion related but someone might benefit from it :)

Cords

Closet item for yesterday was this rose pink corduroy pants from Banana Republic (bought last year). I was running errands and there is nothing better than being in comfortable clothes especially with a little toddler. So I paired it with these boots from Target ($20!) and one of my favorite knit shirts. I've had this shirt for almost two years now. It was in the mid 80's yesterday but I wore a knit anyway! It was just right inside Crate and Barrel where the A/C was blasting in the upper 60's! :)

A passion for photography - GIVEAWAY!!!

I have received a few comments on how they appreciate the way I do my photos on this blog, especially the detail shots. These pictures make up for not being able to take outfit photos outdoors (like many amazing bloggers). Aside from clothes and shoes, I have a passion for photography. I run a separate blog for this passion and if you are interested, you can check it out here

I bought my first SLR in 2008 and would shoot at anything that caught my eye. When my daughter was born, my interest in photography grew even more. I bought books and spent hours and hours online just absorbing all the knowledge I can get. And then I discovered Clickin Moms. It is a site where women (mommy or not) can share their photos and a love for photography. It is there where I learned so much and continue to learn the craft. It is there where I found so many wonderful photographers who do amazing work like Sarah of My Four Hens Photography or Mindy of Pastel Photography to name a few.

So, my friends over at Clickin Moms is offering a free 1 year membership ($50 value) to one of my lovely readers!

All you have to do is:

1) Follow this blog via Google Friend Connect (if you are not already following)
2) Leave a comment below that you've done #1

That's it! I will randomly choose a winner one week from today (Oct 31). Good Luck! If you win, aside from learning TONS about photography, you may even find an amazing photographer in your area to take individual/family portraits. The holidays are around the corner, it would be perfect for those Christmas cards! :)

P.S. I ate that cupcake right after I took that photo... it is as good as it looks! :)

A love-hate relationship with Anthropologie

I love the clothes at Anthro... but most of the time my wallet hates them because their clothing is a bit expensive! When I go window shopping, I literally just glance at what is inside that store from the window. I don't even bother going in because I know I will only find clothing that I like that is out of my budget.

But last Sunday, when my lovely hubby gave me the day off (meaning he becomes daddy day-care and I can have my "me, myself and I" time), I decided to stroll around in there. It's so much easier anyway without a huge stroller with me! Their sale section was an additional 40% off the lowest ticketed price! I ended up with so much in the fitting room I had to start doing the "need vs. want" debate. So I left the store with these two items.

This black blouse (as worn in my previous post) retails for $98. It was marked down to $49.95. Then further marked down to $29.95. Plus the 40% off, final price was $17.97!

I fell in love with this pink skirt the moment I laid eyes on it! The retail price was $158. It was marked down to $79.95 then further down to $39.95. Plus the additional 40% off, final price was $23.97! Now how can I just walk away from that?! :)

Keeping it simple

I chose to dress simple today. Just jeans, a blouse and flats. The weather is climbing back up again so I wore this black blouse from Anthro. Will you believe me if I told you that I got this for $17.97?? I will share my deal find at Anthro in my next post. :)

I am in the process of getting rid of old clothes and those that no longer fit me. Sadly, having a baby just adds a little here and there and some clothes no longer fit right! I want my closet to be simple! Then I realized I only have one black top (and it's sleeveless)! So for a while now, I have been searching for a black blouse. I loved this because: 1) of the price!! 2) it just flows right, and 3) the little crochet design on the sleeves and the bottom makes it more feminine. BUT if this was not on sale (retail value was $98), I wouldn't have bought it! :)

Arm candy

I went to return something yesterday and I ended up wandering into the stores. What else is new?! And then I found these!

The pearl bracelet is from J.Crew. The original price was $32. It went on sale for $19.99 plus an additional 30% off the lowest ticketed price so I got it for $13.99! Sweet!

The other two bracelets are from Forever 21. They always have some nice accessories at a really cheap price. I have bangles from them that has lasted for several years now. The necklaces however start to irritate my skin after a while.

The cream/gold bracelet is $8.80 and the blue/antique gold bracelet is $4.80. I felt like a kid in a candy store! :)

Finally!

We finally have some cool weather today! High of 71 degrees! I got so excited I couldn't decide which "cold weather" outfit to wear! :)

So I chose this light sweater from Forever 21. I wore it on top of a satin blouse from Gap, green skinny jeans from Zara and my Intyce boots from Steve Madden I've been wanting to wear since the start of the "ber" months. HSN was having this Steve Madden special a couple of months ago and these boots were selling fast! It was hard choosing the color, I wanted all of them! In the end, I ended up with this since I already have black and brown boots. Who doesn't love those "4 easy payments of $..." deals?! :)

Blues and animal prints

When I first saw this blouse at Zara I thought it was black... I took it home with me and looked closely and realized that it was actually dark blue. Oh well, I love it anyway! :)

So today is going to be a high of 85F! Woot! In this part of the country, we are happy at ANY chance of cooler weather. But yes, 85 is still WARM! :( I decided to start taking out some of my boots from their boxes. These Nine West booties have been with me since 2008. I remember I bought it with another pair of boots plus the bag I am wearing in this outfit! All in camel color! It was a good sale! My husband was in China on business at the time... so what's a lonely wife (who just started a new job) to do?? Break in the first salary and SHOP! :)

Happy weekend!

Comfy

I like to wear comfortable clothes when I travel. So I wore this track suit last Saturday on our way back from San Antonio. I got this early this year at Nordstrom Rack. I am absolutely nowhere near being a "Queen"... I just love all the embellishments and swirls on this suit. Plus the ribbed sides on the bottoms give me the perfect length.

Casually casual

Okay so maybe this outfit is not that casual for a grocery run. But I love clothes... and shoes... and I have a lot of them... there is a need to wear them even if my career title is now Stay-home Mom. And besides, I may take a little detour to the mall to let my little one see the train and the carousel (as promised). :)

$20 (or less) deal - Juicy shirt

I am lazy to go out today. We FINALLY got some rain during the weekend and I am hoping for more. It's gloomy outside and I'd much rather be in my pajamas. :)

So I will share my $20 (or less) deal that I found at the outlet in San Marcos last Saturday. We were on our way back to Austin and decided to stop at the outlet. It is on the way after all! :) This shirt retails for $38. It was a size 14 in the kids section (equivalent to petite in adults). The kid's clothes are always cheaper! I was mainly attracted to the glitter logo.

The tag says $29.99 plus an additional 30% off. But when they rang it up, it was actually on sale for $19.99 plus an additional 30% off. I ended up paying $13.99 plus tax. Don't you love it when that happens?? :)

Vintage?

A lady asked me if this dress was vintage... no it is not... it is H&M :)

I am busy today packing for our weekend in San Antonio (we leave tonight) so I will post these outfit photos taken last July. I was on lazy mode back then and forgot to post them.

Happy weekend everyone! :)

Dress: H&M | Shoes: Payless | Purse: Zara | Watch: Guess | Necklace: Juicy Couture | Wood bangle: bought in Bohol, Philippines | Blue bead bracelet: gifted

Just a play date

Nothing special going on today... another comfy outfit for my little one's play date plus a few errands. This striped tee from Zara is made from organic cotton and is only $17!

I just realized that I have never really worn this necklace that my brother gave me several years ago when he was in Saudi (he was in the Navy). Or maybe I wore it once or twice but it has been so long. The pendant has my name on it in both english and arabic. My sisters and I each have our own. The symbols on there are actually pretty cool!

BDIB: Animal Instincts

This week's challenge over at BDIB is to sport animal prints. I decided to use this scarf I found at Ross a few months ago for $5. The brand name is Larioseta and it's made in Italy. Can't beat that for the price and quality. I knew I would use this scarf A LOT this Fall and this challenge is the perfect excuse to break it in (even though it's still in the upper 80's in  Texas!) :)
