The alphabet

Today is blue sky and sunshine! Perfect weather to wear my new shoes. I've been walking around in them for more than two hours now and my feet are still happy.

I decided to wear them with these bright pants from Gap and this denim shirt from Forever 21. A it's adorable, B it's so beautiful. This whole outfit equals C (for COMFORTABLE). Okay, not quite how the song should go.

Florals

Please excuse this wrinkled dress. I hate ironing. My husband hates that I hate ironing. I only iron on occasions that I absolutely need to. Like a formal dinner or a job interview. But on a regular day like today, with a toddler in tow, I leave it as it is. It will eventually get wrinkled anyway.

This month's challenge over at Everybody, Everywear is florals. I've had this dress shirt for over 5 years and the number of times I've worn it can be counted. I never let go of it though. There is something about it that just keeps earning its place in my closet.

The weekend dress

One dress. One weekend. Two ways.

Last Saturday the hubby took me out to dinner to celebrate Mother's Day. He wanted to avoid the mad crowd in restaurants on the day itself. I decided to wear this dress. It is a maternity maxi dress so there was no way I could have worn it without a belt. Total dinner time - about 2 hours. The meal was awesome by the way! Good thing I wore a dress, the creme brule, would have been a button popper!

Since I only wore the dress for 2 hours (and didn't spill anything on it), I decided to wear it again yesterday to go grocery shopping. This white top is a maternity blouse. It was quite nice wearing these maternity clothes again without the bump (and the nausea and the penguin walk)! So the dress was worn for a total of 4 hours. It can now be thrown into my dark colors laundry pile.

I also tried to experiment with a recipe from the Food & Wine cookbook I received from American Express (for free)! Well not totally free, I paid $2.99 for shipping! The dish is called Chicken Sukiyaki and it can also be found here. It was actually good and healthy - low sodium and low fat. I would use regular soy sauce for a not so healthy option :)

Just one of those days

I usually wake up in the morning knowing what I need to do or what needs to get done during the day. I work from home so my work hours are early morning and late evening when the little one does not require my utmost attention.

Today's to do list (updated as of this writing):

Morning work - check
Grocery list - check
Grocery shopping
Dinner meal
Evening work - pending

My 3rd and 4th items on my list have just been crossed out due to laziness. Maybe the hubby will be really nice and take us out to dinner tonight! :) Yes it is one of those days where I am too lazy to even take a shower (TMI).

I was browsing through my photos while Sophia was taking a nap and simultaneously jotting down my grocery list, and I found these photos that I was not able to post last month. This was taken on a weekend. For some reason, I totally forgot about it. So no I didn't wear this today, but this is a much better outfit than pink flower pajamas and a loose t-shirt.

Pants: Forever 21, Graphic shirt: Zara, Shoes: Steve Madden, Sunglasses: Oakley, Bangle: Flea market, Watch: Kenneth Cole

White pile

I still had my white clothing pile from yesterday so I thought I'd do another outfit for white-out! Thank you Ms. Weather for allowing me to wear my scarf today. Blue sky, sunshine, 70 degrees and a light breeze just puts you in a happy mood. I'm not quite ready for Texas summer yet! This outfit may not exactly be all white, but everything else underneath that sweater is. Does that count??

White Out

The challenge for this week's Bloggers Do It Better series is spring's all-white ("White Out") trend. I took part in this trend on this post but wanted to come up with another outfit for the challenge. I didn't know how difficult it would be until I gathered all my white clothes together and couldn't come up with one single outfit! So this morning, without looking, I grabbed one white clothing from the pile and decided to just work with that.

Today was in the low 70s (at least until about 2pm) so it was perfect to wear this light trench coat. At about 5pm, at 84 degrees, I had to drive back home without the jacket!

Feeling royal

Royal blue that is! I originally wanted to wear these gray pin stripe pants with mustard yellow. I realized this morning that the only office appropriate yellow top I had in my closet was a knit cardigan. I'll move that outfit idea in the fall! So I went with royal blue instead. These shoes are by Jessica Simpson and was on sale at Nordstrom rack for $26 (Original price - $69.99)! The kind of deals that I like!

I watched bits and pieces of the royal wedding this morning. I thought it was nice and simple. Just like this outfit (no fancy hat required).

Bad hair days

Despite the gorgeous weather today, my hair was simply unmanageable! I was too lazy to spend any more extra effort on it. Solution? Wear a hat! I thought I'd wear it with my closet item - this white Zara dress. There is always something about white that makes you feel like a fresh spring breeze! And speaking of Zara, I went to pay her a visit this afternoon. She was after all near my errand destination. For some reason, my hair in the fitting room looked nice! I think those mirrors trick you into looking good no matter what you wear - be it your messy hair or the nice trench coat! Did I mention I've been looking for the perfect one for a long time now?? Sigh!

A change in dates

About 2 years ago, when I take off from work, I either do absolutely nothing or go malling. In other words I have a date with myself. When we stay home, we become a couch potato with a pint of ice cream. If we decide to go to the mall, we end up with at least one shopping bag and a tummy full of Auntie Anne's pretzel.

These days, when I take off work, I go on play dates. It was perfect weather to get out of the house with the little one. So I decided to wear this top with shorts to visit with Sophia's little friends. We went home with a full tummy of yummy home cooked food and a brownie. Well.. my tummy.
